Grilled rice refers to  rice  which is given some spices and side dishes, then wrapped with  banana leaf  and locked with a stick, which was then burned over a charcoal fire. Burnt banana leaves also produce a unique aroma to the rice. Grilled rice included  Indonesian food  which only developed in the early 2000s, and is probably a derivative of  lead rice .
